Kelly Lee Owens has announced her new Oleic EP, released on Smalltown Supersound 21 October, and with it comes lead single 'CMB'. The hypnotic, shuddering affair sees the London producer blend 8-bit, techno sounds with a restless, whirring synth line that develops organically throughout the near five minute cut. Her time with Daniel Avery, on whose acclaimed Drone Logic album Owens featured, has clearly rubbed off, as this feels like her most assured and thought-provoking work to date. No surprise at all that she finds herself opening for Jenny Hval at London's Oslo on 19 October. -G.O'B
